ABOUT US

This is where you get to meet us and find out who we are, what we like, etc. We love books, movies, and musicals and will absolutely make that clear in these little blurbs about us!

Karen Alyse

I come from a pretty large family (I am the 5th of 7 kids) and I have always loved reading. When I was in 4th grade I started a magazine with two of my friends (this even spurred another set of girls in our class to make their own magazine). I was in charge of the word searches we put in the magazine as well as a few of the articles-sadly this magazine never saw life past the 4th grade. My English teacher in 5th grade knew that I would go to college for English and said as much when our school year ended. I continued loving English and eventually did go to college where I did major in English. My Literature Into Film class was one of my absolute favorite classes from my time in school because we got to discuss adaptations of books into movies every single day.

The first books I truly remember loving were A Little Princess, Ella Enchanted, and Princess Academy. I was constantly reading stories, watching movies, and listening to musicals as I was growing up. On any given day you could probably find me watching The Sound of Music when all of my friends were watching movies far shorter. The Barbie movies were really my mainline to musicals as a child and I still love those movies to this day. I have since branched out from princesses and enjoy many different types of stories.

I am so looking forward to getting to share my love of books, movies, and musicals with all of you! Thank you for taking this crazy ride with us! 💚

I have always loved reading, especially when I was younger. Even my first grade teacher has said that I was always reading in her class. I almost always had a book on hand when I went anywhere and read pretty much whenever I could. Some of my favorite childhood books were Judy Moody, Junie B. Jones, and A Series of Unfortunate Events. To go along with that, my favorite movies were mostly Disney, but I did have a growing love for superhero movies and quickly grew to love the Harry Potter movies.

I was introduced to musicals in elementary school, probably starting with movie musicals such as Fiddler on the Roof (which I was actually in a production of in third grade) and The Sound of Music. The first musical I ever really got into and actually got to see a production of was Wicked. It has always been and always will be one of my favorite musicals, but I have since branched out to love different types of musicals.

I am so excited to share my love for books, movies, musicals, and everything in between with all of you! Thank you all so much for joining us on this journey. 💜
